Ford GLOBE (UK) has been ranked 2nd in the Employee Network Group of the Year category of Stonewall's 2009 Workplace Equality Index. Stonewall is a UK based gay equality charity and Ford of Britain is one of its Diversity Champions. Their Index showcases Britain's top 100 employers for gay staff and the employer's gay Employee Networks.
In addition, Ford Motor Company was ranked 11th in the Workplace Equality Index, out of the 317 employers that took part in this year's Index - up from 136 employers in 2005.
This is a major improvement on last years performance when Ford was ranked 43rd. Although the competition was much tougher this year, Ford's improved performance was attributed to the weight of evidence and examples we provided, as well as our performance in the independent assessment visit which took place in Warley last year.
